Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Ectobuilder. By creating an account or using the Service you accept them. If you use Ectobuilder for a company, you accept them on its behalf.

1. Who we are

Ectobuilder is operated by Michał Włosik EFC, ul. Północna 16/5, 54-105 Wrocław, Poland, NIP 8942747708 ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@ectobuilder.com.

2. The Service

Ectobuilder is an online visual editor for building Ghost themes. It includes the editor at editor.ectobuilder.com, AI generation features, a theme gallery, deployment to Ghost sites you connect, and an MCP connector that lets AI assistants work on your themes and Ghost content ("the Service").

Ectobuilder is an independent product. It is not made, endorsed or supported by the Ghost Foundation.

3. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including actions taken by AI assistants you connect to it.
Tell us straight away at hello@ectobuilder.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. Plans, payments and refunds

Free: explore the editor and the full section library, with up to three themes. Downloading and deploying themes are not included.
Pro: unlimited themes, theme download and one-click deploy to up to three Ghost sites. Studio: the same for unlimited Ghost sites. Lifetime: Pro paid once, with no renewals. All as described on our pricing.
Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as merchant of record and handles invoices and sales tax. Prices are shown before you pay.
Pro and Studio are yearly subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel. Lifetime is a single payment and does not renew. You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period, then moves to Free.
14-day refund: if you're not happy, ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, by emailing hello@ectobuilder.com. This applies once per customer. When we refund a payment, your subscription ends and your licence to use themes downloaded or deployed during the refunded period ends with it. We may refuse refunds that are clearly abusive, for example repeated purchases and refunds.
If you're a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days. By starting to use paid features straight away, you ask us to start the service during that period; you keep the refund above regardless.
AI generation allowances reset each billing period and do not carry over.
We may change prices. Changes apply from your next renewal, and we'll email you at least 14 days before.

5. Your content and themes

You own the content you add: your text, images and settings, and the themes you build with them.
You give us permission to store, process, display and transmit that content only as needed to run the Service, for example to show a preview, build a theme file, deploy it to your Ghost site, or send it to an AI provider when you use AI features.
Themes you download or deploy on a paid plan are yours to use on any number of your own sites or your clients' sites, without attribution. You may not resell or redistribute Ectobuilder's sections, templates or library as a theme pack, template collection or competing builder.
If you submit a theme to our gallery, you allow us to show it publicly and let other users start their own copies from it.
You're responsible for having the rights to everything you upload or publish, including images, fonts, logos and text.

6. Keeping and deleting your themes

Your themes stay saved for as long as your account exists, on any plan. If you stop paying, your account moves to Free: your themes stay in the editor, but you can't download or deploy them, or create more than the Free limit, until you upgrade again. Themes already deployed keep working on your Ghost site.
You can delete themes at any time. To delete your account and all its data, email hello@ectobuilder.com; we do it within 30 days.
Free accounts with no sign-in for 24 months may be deleted, after at least 30 days' notice by email.
Keep your own copy of anything important. Download your themes while you have a paid plan.

7. AI features

AI output can be wrong, incomplete or similar to other people's output. Check it before you publish.
Prompts and content are sent to our AI providers to produce results. We don't use them to train models.
When you connect an AI assistant through MCP, it acts on your instructions with your account's permissions. It can change your themes, deploy them and create, edit or publish posts on connected Ghost sites. You're responsible for what you ask it to do.

8. Connected Ghost sites

To deploy themes or manage content you give us a Ghost Admin API key. We use it only for actions you start, in the editor or through an AI assistant. Deploying a theme replaces the active theme on that site straight away. You're responsible for your Ghost site, its hosting, backups and content. Remove the key in Ghost at any time to revoke access.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and trademarks;
build phishing pages, impersonate others or publish malware;
publish content that is hateful, harassing or sexually exploits minors;
try to get around plan limits, share an account to avoid paying, or overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service;
access other users' data.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where possible, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

10. Our rights

The Service, the editor, the section library and our brand belong to us or our licensors. Some sections are based on open-source projects, which keep their own licences; see the credits on our home page. Apart from the theme rights in section 5, these terms don't give you any rights in the Service.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running, but we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, or close the Service, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

12. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit, data or business, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

13. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We can end these terms with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For significant changes we'll email account holders at least 14 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Polish law. Disputes go to the courts competent for our registered address, except that consumers can also use the courts where they live and keep the protection of their local consumer law. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution service.
