The **Nail Salon** theme is an Ectobuilder theme for nail studios, lash bars and beauty salons running their site on Ghost. Its homepage opens with a photo and a card with a *Book an appointment* button, then shows your treatments and prices in tabs, a wall of recent sets, the visit step by step, your technicians, client reviews, an FAQ, a nail-care journal and a map with your opening hours.

This guide walks through what most salons set up first:

- [Put your treatment menu online](#part-1-put-your-treatment-menu-online), with prices and times.
- [Take bookings](#part-2-take-bookings) from every booking button.
- [Show your work and your team](#part-3-show-your-work-and-your-team): recent sets, technicians and reviews.
- [Answer questions and add your hours](#part-4-answer-questions-and-add-your-hours), with a map.
- [Start a nail-care journal](#part-5-start-a-nail-care-journal) that also goes out by email.
- [Set up your menu](#part-6-set-up-your-menu) in the Menu panel.
- [Check your SEO with Site audit](#part-7-check-your-seo-with-site-audit) before you launch.

To follow along, open the theme from the [Ectobuilder theme gallery](https://www.ectobuilder.com/themes/) and connect your Ghost site under Settings → Integrations → Ghost Admin API.

****Want this theme for your site?** Open the Nail Salon theme in Ectobuilder and make it yours. Starting is free, and you only pay if you’re happy with the design.

The homepage hero, with Book now in the header and Book an appointment on the card.

## Part 1: Put your treatment menu online

The **Treatments & prices** section groups your menu in three tabs: *Manicure*, *Pedicure* and *Extras*. Each treatment has a name, a price and one line with what it is and how long it takes, like *Gel manicure, $45: long-lasting color, 45 minutes*. The line under the heading says what every treatment includes, so you don't repeat it on each one.

![Treatments and prices with Manicure, Pedicure and Extras tabs; the Manicure tab lists Gel manicure for $45, BIAB builder gel for $55 and Classic manicure for $30](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmuhsvg.webp)

Treatments & prices: one tab per group, a price and a time for each treatment.

### Step 1: Change the treatments and prices

1. Click a tab to open it, then double-click a name, price or description to type over it.
2. To add a treatment, click one and use **Items** in the panel to duplicate it. The arrows move it, and the cross removes it.
3. Prices like *from $5* or *$10* with *free with a new set* in the description work well for extras such as nail art and removal.

### Step 2: Change the tabs

Double-click a tab label to rename it. A lash or brow salon might use *Lashes*, *Brows* and *Extras*. With the section selected, **Tabs** in the panel adds a tab (a copy of the last one) or removes the last one, and **Look** changes the style of the tab buttons.

## Part 2: Take bookings

Most nail clients book on their phone, often late in the evening. The hero's *Book an appointment* button and the buttons in the visit section link to `#booking`, which opens your booking page.

### Step 1: Add your booking page

Use the booking tool you already have, such as Fresha, Vagaro, Square Appointments or GlossGenius, or a Calendly page. Copy the address of your booking page, open **Settings → Integrations → Booking page** in Ectobuilder and paste it.

![Ectobuilder Settings, Integrations, Booking page address field](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmrzyys.webp)

Settings → Integrations → Booking page.

The *Book now* button in the header points to `/book/` in the sample. Select it and set its link to `#booking` too, so every button opens the same page. Click **Deploy** and try it on your phone. To take bookings from Google Search and Maps as well, read [How to add online booking to your Ghost site](https://www.ectobuilder.com/blog/add-booking-to-ghost-site/).

### Step 2: Show the visit step by step

First-time clients like to know what to expect. **Your visit, step by step** has four steps, *Book online*, *Pick your color*, *Relax while we work* and *Leave with a finish you love*, each with a photo and its own button.

![Your visit, step by step: four steps on the left with Book online selected, and a photo of a bright salon with white mirrors and black chairs on the right](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmuhwio.webp)

Your visit, step by step. Each step shows its own photo and button.

1. Double-click the steps to rewrite them for your salon.
2. Click a photo and choose **Replace** in the **Image** panel to use your own: your chairs, your color wall, a finished set.
3. Each step has its own button, like *See treatments* or *Find the studio*. Select one to change its words or link.
4. To have the steps play by themselves, select the section and choose a time under **Open by themselves**. They stop as soon as a visitor picks one.

## Part 3: Show your work and your team

For a nail salon, the pictures sell the booking. **Recent sets** is a wall of seven photos in columns of different heights, so portrait and square shots both fit.

![Recent sets: a masonry wall of seven manicure photos, including glossy black and tortoiseshell nails, bright abstract nail art, red love lettering and soft pink almond nails](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmuhu9y.webp)

Recent sets: seven photos in a masonry wall.

1. Click a photo and **Replace** it with one of your own sets. Photos taken in the same light, against a plain background, look best together.
2. Fill in each photo's **Description**, such as *Milky pink BIAB with gold foil*. Search engines read it, and people search for exactly these words.
3. Use **Items** to add or remove photos.

To let visitors open a set full size, set **Click to enlarge** to **All** under **Settings → Features**. The [lightbox guide](https://www.ectobuilder.com/blog/ghost-lightbox/) has the details.

**The hands behind every set** introduces your technicians with a photo, a name and a specialty, like *BIAB specialist* or *Hand-painted nail art*. Clients often book a person, so make the specialties specific. Replace each photo and use **Items** to match your team.

![Technicians section titled The hands behind every set with four portraits: Mia Torres, founder and nail artist; Chloe Park, BIAB specialist; Sofia Reyes, hand-painted nail art; Emma Walsh, pedicure and spa care](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmuhxwi.webp)

Your technicians, each with a specialty.

Under that, **Kind words** is a slider of client reviews, each with a name and the treatment. Replace the samples with real reviews from Google or Instagram, with permission. A review that names a treatment, like *My BIAB lasted four weeks without a single chip*, helps the next client choose.

![Kind words: three review cards from Jessica R., Ashley M. and Hannah L., each with a short quote and the treatment, with arrow buttons](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmuhywt.webp)

Kind words: client reviews in a slider.

## Part 4: Answer questions and add your hours

**Good to know** answers what clients ask before they book: *How long does a gel manicure last?*, *Do you take walk-ins?*, *What if I need to cancel or move my appointment?*, *Can I bring my own nail art idea?* and *Is gel removal safe for my nails?*

![Good to know: five questions about nail appointments, with the first, How long does a gel manicure last, open](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmuhzts.webp)

Good to know: questions open with a click.

1. Double-click a question or answer to edit it. Put your real cancellation policy here, in plain words.
2. Use **Items** to add a question, for example about deposits, gift cards or kids' manicures.

At the bottom, **Visit the studio** shows your address, opening hours, phone and email next to a map. Click the map and type your address in **Address** under **Map** in the panel. Then double-click the address, hours, phone and email to type yours, and update the phone and email links so they call and email you. Keep the hours the same as on your Google Business profile.

## Part 5: Start a nail-care journal

The **Nail journal** section shows your three latest blog posts, with a photo, a tag, the date and a short summary. The samples show the kind of posts that work: *How to make your gel manicure last longer*, *Fall colors we can't stop painting* and *BIAB vs gel: which one is right for you?* Posts like these answer questions people search for, and bring them to your booking button.

1. In Ghost Admin, write a post, add a feature image and a tag such as *Care* or *Trends*, and publish it.
2. In Ectobuilder, click the journal section to choose which posts it shows and how many under **Posts from Ghost**. The cards in the editor are samples; your posts appear on the live site after you click **Deploy**.

The footer asks visitors to *Subscribe to studio news*. Each address becomes a member of your Ghost site. Set up your newsletter in Ghost Admin under **Settings → Newsletters**, then choose **Publish and email** on a post to send it. Once a month, with new colors and open slots, is plenty.

## Part 6: Set up your menu

The header links to *Home*, *Treatments*, *Journal* and *Contact*. These links live in Ghost, and you edit them in the **Menu** panel, right next to your page. Click **Menu** in the left rail.

![The Ectobuilder editor with the Menu panel open: links with icons, one inside a dropdown, and the page header showing the same links](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvms0fmw.webp)

The Menu panel beside the page. The header shows each change as you make it.

- **Add, rename and reorder** links. Drag a link slightly to the right to put it in a dropdown, for example *Manicure*, *Pedicure* and *Lashes* under *Treatments*.
- **Give links icons**, like a calendar next to *Book* or a camera next to *Instagram*.
- Switch to the **Footer menu** and set **Layout** to **Columns** for footer columns such as *Studio*, *Treatments* and *Policies*.

Each change shows on the page as you make it, and goes to Ghost when you click **Deploy**. There is no separate save. The Menu panel needs a Ghost staff token once, under Settings → Integrations. The [menu editor guide](https://www.ectobuilder.com/blog/edit-ghost-menu/) covers every option.

## Part 7: Check your SEO with Site audit

Most new clients find a salon by searching "nails near me" or "BIAB San Francisco". Before you launch, open **Settings → Site audit** and click **Run audit**. It reads every public page of your Ghost site and lists what it finds under **To fix** and **To improve**.

![Ectobuilder Settings, Site audit results: counts for To fix, To improve and Passed, an Auto fix button and a list of issues](https://www.ectobuilder.com/content/images/2026/10/image-mvmsfvay.webp)

Site audit results, with Auto fix next to each issue. Example data.

For a salon, the ones that matter most:

- **Site description**: what you do and where, like *Gel, BIAB and nail art on Fillmore Street, San Francisco.*
- **Sharing image**: the picture shown when someone sends your link in a chat. One of your best sets works well.
- **Descriptions** for your journal posts, and **alt text** for the photos in them.
- **Broken links** from an old site or booking page. Send each one to the right page under **Settings → Redirects**.

**Auto fix** writes the missing descriptions for you. You see every suggestion first, can edit or untick it, and nothing is saved until you click **Apply**. More in the [Site audit guide](https://www.ectobuilder.com/blog/ghost-seo-audit/).

## Next steps

- Change the colors and fonts under **Style**. They apply to every page at once, and you can [use your own font](https://www.ectobuilder.com/blog/ghost-custom-fonts/).
- Add a link to your Instagram in the menu or footer, so clients can see more sets.
- Swap the recent sets every month or so. A wall of this season's colors tells visitors you're busy.
